YOUTH SERVICE

ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS (RYLA)

Daybreak Rotary is proud to sponsor area high school students who attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) in Spring 2014.  RYLA emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and personal growth, and aims to:

  • Demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth

  • Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders

  • Encourage leadership of youth by youth

  • Recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities

YOUTH EXCHANGE

With Daybreak Rotary's focus on youth, we will look forward to on-going supports of international youth exchanges.  Whether they participate in Rotary’s long-term or short-term Youth Exchange programs, Youth Exchange Students learn a new way of living, a great deal about themselves, and maybe even a new language. They become ambassadors, teaching people they meet about their country, culture, and ideas. Youth Exchange Students can help bring the world closer – and make some good friends in the process.  Rotary Youth Exchange students spend up to a year living with a few host families and attending school in a different country.

INTERACT AND ROTARACT CLUBS

Future partnerships will be developed to support an Interact Club at a Bloomington-Normal school.  The club supports the BJHS Promise Council and this would be another way to contribute the overall success of these junior high students.
